KPCC Interviews of CD2 Candidates – No Grassroots, Only Big Money Candidates
By mccue on Sep 21, 2009 in LATEST NEWS
What happened today on AirTalk? Why weren’t there any grassroots candidates represented on KPCC’s Larry Mantle show featuring only the 3 big money CD2 candidates?
Per KPCC site (September 21, 2009):
Join KPCC’s AirTalk with host Larry Mantle weekdays for lively and in-depth discussions of city news, politics, science, the arts, entertainment, and more.
Last July, Wendy Greuel left her seat on the Los Angeles City Council to become city controller. Now ten candidates are competing in a September 22 special election to represent the Second District. Larry Mantle moderates a debate with three of the front-runners.
What source did Larry Mantle/KPCC use to determine that the three candidates on today’s show were the “front-runners?” Why focus only on three candidates? Why was I cut off during my on air call-in question?
This is wrong and irresponsible.
